Calling all youth songwriters living in the Kaipara region!

You are invited to register your interest in Songwriter Collective – a series of workshops in Mangawhai, February 2023.

If you’re between the age of 12 – 19 years, these workshops will offer you the opportunity for collaboration and networking while creating a friendly supportive environment.

At the workshops you will:

· Discover new sounds and ways to craft your musical style, rhythmic feel and vocal performance
· Explore contemporary and innovative songwriting techniques
· Build your creative awareness and your connection to the people and place where you live
· Learn the value of taking creative risks
· Appreciate the benefits of collaboration and how best to give constructive feedback

Besides advancing your work as a songwriter, the workshops aim to build self-awareness and creative resilience and nurture creative trust and respect.

Song Conversations’ co-founders Kiri Eriwata and Stephen (Tipene) Matthews will lead a team of professional songwriting tutors. Kiri and Tipene, both professional musicians, have taught creative songwriting, vocal and instrumental performance and music industry studies at the University of Auckland for many years.

The long-term goal of the workshop series is to establish an inspiring collective of youth songwriters living in the Kaipara region.
